Care Dynamics is constantly on the look-out for hospitals with a desire to collaborate with our R&D team in the problem definition and solution design phases of development projects. By dedicating your resources to such endeavors, you can reap the benefit of being the first to deploy the resulting solution and set the trend in your industry. Early engagement also accords our joint development partners the ability to ensure that their needs are adequately addressed.
Recently, the professionals at OCON - the Orthopaedics Centre East Netherlands in Hengelo and Almelo – highlighted an issue that plagues their consultation hours: excessive waiting time for patients. Even though appointments are booked according to rosters in which slots are carefully sized and earmarked for specific appointment codes, build-up of queues is a regular phenomenon.
OCON agreed to work closely with our R&D team in a Joint Development Program to investigate the root causes for the excessive delays. The objective of the ongoing exercise is to explore alternative ways to ensure a pleasant patient experience while maintaining a high level of throughput.
Our R&D team is working closely with OCON's IT staff to mine the wealth of data available in their transactional systems as well as in their data warehouses. The research team is also in close contact with OCON's orthopaedic doctors and management to ensure that the solution to streamline patient flow reflects both medical and operational concerns.
For Care Dynamics, OCON is an example of an ideal partner to help redefine the approach to a common problem in hospital operations using a cutting-edge analytic solution. By doing so, Care Dynamics is able to provide hospitals greater insight into issues in their waiting rooms, and identify corrective measures to maximise patient satisfaction and system throughput.
